APN Settings for Cellular Data and MMS

You will need to configure the APN (Access Point Name) on your device in order to use data and picture/video messaging (MMS) with the network. Most devices will allow you to create a new APN in addition to whatever is loaded on your phone already, while others require you to modify the existing APN.

What is Multimedia Messaging (MMS)? Multimedia Messaging (MMS) allows you to send text messages containing images, videos, and other multimedia content. To enable MMS on your Roam device, you need to make sure you change the mobile data settings on your device.

iOS (iPhone & iPad)

  • Insert the MCS Global Link SIM into your phone
  • Select ​Settings
  • Select ​Cellular
  • Select​ Cellular Data Options
  • Make sure Data Roaming is turned ON or Enabled
  • Select ​Cellular Data Network
  • Under the ​Cellular Data ​section change the ​APN ​to the word ​pwg​ (leaving Username and Password blank)
  • Under the ​MMS​ section enter the word ​pwg​ in the APN field and the following address under ​MMSC​: http://pwg.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
  • MMS Max Message size: 1048576
  • MMS UA Prof URL: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
  • Save the settings by going back to the last menu ● Restart your phone

Android

  • Insert the MCS Global Link SIM into your phone
  • Select ​Settings
  • Select ​More…​ (under Wireless and Networks)
  • Select ​Mobile Networks​ (labelled Cellular Networks in Android Lollipop 5.0)
  • Make sure Data Roaming is turned ON or Enabled
  • Select ​Access Point Names
  • Press ​Menu
  • Press ​New APN​ or ​+​ symbol
  • In the new APN field, enter the following settings:

Name: MCS Global Link

APN: pwg

Username & Password: leave blank

MMSC: ​http://pwg.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc

  • If the APN type does not default to the “​default,supl,mms” ​option or settings, please choose this option and enter the settings required. All other fields need to be left blank, or left as whatever the default settings are.
  • Press ​Menu​ and ​Save
  • Ensure the new ​MCS Global LinkAPN is selected
  • Restart your phone

Windows Phone

  • Insert the MCS Global Link SIM into your phone
  • Select ​Settings
  • Select ​mobile+SIM
  • Select ​SIM settings
  • Select ​add Internet APN
  • Enter the word ​pwg​ under the APN field
  • Press the ​save​ icon The following settings are for picture messaging MMS and are optional
  • Select ​add MMS APN
  • Enter the word ​pwg​ under the APN field
  • Enter ​http://pwg.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc​ under MMSC (URL)
  • Restart the device

MCC & MNC:

If you are prompted to enter the Mobile Country Code (MCC) or Mobile Network Code (MNC) during APN configuration, use the values below:

*Please note, these are country codes that will change automatically based on location. If you are in the US, and the values are not the same as below, please modify. If you are in any other country and the code is different, do not modify.  MCC: 310 MNC: 260

SETTING UP YOUR VOICEMAIL

Press and hold the 1 (or dial 123) key on your device dial pad to call and connect to your voicemail.
If prompted for a password the first time you access your new voicemail account, use the last four digits of your mobile number.
When prompted, create a password. Your password can be any 4- to 7- digit code. A good password is one that’s easy for you to remember, but hard for others to guess.
When prompted, record your greeting and name. Your voicemail is now ready to use.

CHANGING YOUR GREETING

Press and hold the 1 key on your device’s dial pad to call and connect to your voicemail.
Press the * key to access the main menu.
Press 3 to access the Greeting menu.
Press 2 to record a new greeting. If you’re replacing an existing greeting, the existing recording plays first.
When prompted, record your greeting. Press the # key when you’re done recording.
Press 1 to set your recording as your voicemail greeting.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR MESSAGES

From your device press and hold the 1 key on your device’s dial pad. Or make a phone call to 123.
